What Are Geotextiles?

Geotextiles are technical geosynthetics primarily used for separation, filtration, and protection in construction projects. Made from materials such as polypropylene or polyester, they are characterized by their durability and versatility.

Novura geotextiles, such as the Secutex® nonwoven range, are designed to provide material separation and filtration while also offering protective functions. These properties make them ideal for applications in road construction, waste management, erosion control, and many other fields.

Geotextiles from Novura

Secutex®

Secutex® is a single-layer, mechanically bonded nonwoven geotextiles, also known as fleece. Some types are additionally calendered. It separates soil layers with different grain sizes and ensures filter stability. Typical applications include road construction, railway construction, industrial and traffic route construction, hydraulic engineering, landfill construction, environmental protection, pipeline construction, tunnel construction, and the construction of construction roads, traffic areas, and wind energy plants.

Secutex® Green

Secutex® Green is a 100% biodegradable, mechanically bonded nonwoven geotextile. Made from renewable raw materials, it offers the same high performance standards as conventional geotextiles. Secutex® Green is UV-resistant and suitable for applications such as garden and landscape construction, temporary paths, bank and coastal protection, and glacier protection. It can remain on-site or be composted after renaturation without harming the environment.

Secutex® H

Secutex® H is a single-layer, needle-punched nonwoven geotextile made of polypropylene (PP), developed for hydraulic engineering. It serves as a filter and separation layer to prevent the migration of fine particles and ensure structural stability. Secutex® H offers long-term filter efficiency, high puncture resistance, and adaptability to soil deformations. Typical applications include use as a filter geotextile in hydraulic engineering and as a separation geotextile under impermeable cover layers.

Secutex® H is specifically used in hydraulic engineering. This nonwoven geotextiles serves as a filter and separation layer and is robust against puncture and long-term abrasion. It is used, for example, in underwater installations and to protect dams.
